FLSA Status : Salary, Exempt - $ DOE + holiday bonus
Saddle & Cycle Club is a prestigious private club known for its impeccable service, luxurious amenities, and vibrant community. With a legacy spanning over a century, we offer an unparalleled experience. We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team and be part of an esteemed organization dedicated to providing exceptional experiences to our Members and their Guests.
General Summary : Our private club is searching for a Sous Chef to take on a leadership position in our kitchens. In this position, you will work under the Executive Chef, supervising the kitchens and ensuring smooth communication between the front-of-house and back-of-house staff. You will also train the line cooks and check their work to make sure it meets our high standards. Our ideal applicant has a degree or certificate in culinary arts, but we are willing to work with anyone that has the necessary skills and experience.
Essential Functions :
- Train the kitchen staff
- Create and execute seasonally changing menus for ala carte outlets and banquets
- Create and execute weekly specials in all outlets
- Participate and lead monthly inventory
- Work line positions as needed
- Attend weekly BEO meetings and work directly with Banquet Sous Chef
- Inspect the kitchen for health and safety violations
- Check the quality of the line cooks' work
- Communicate with the front-of-house staff
- Assume Executive Chef responsibilities in their absence
- Assure quality and consistency standards are being met
- Other duties as assigned

Competencies :
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with Club leadership, general membership, executive management, and Team Members.
Ability to work independently and as a collaborator. A self-starter who embraces and owns a challenge.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
