Litigation Special Counsel
Our client, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking an attorney with 2-5 years of litigation experience to join their Litigation Department as Special Counsel. The preferred location for the position is Tampa, but the firm is also open to considering qualified candidates in Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Tallahassee.
Overview :
This is a full time, non-partner track position supporting the firm’s Construction Practice Group. This position is responsible for a high volume of matters and must be confident in their autonomy. Many of the cases proceed in arbitration rather than in circuit court, so the position requires an individual who is self-motivated and can stay focused in the office setting.
Qualifications :
- 2-5 years of litigation experience
- Experience in conducting discovery, drafting motions, arguing in court, and handling depositions and trials
- Experience in mediation and arbitration, especially related to insurance claims, construction, and design defect claims, is strongly preferred
- Experience managing a team of paralegals and support staff is beneficial
- Proven track record in settling cases
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- JD from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing
All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
