Position Summary
- Full-time temporary position available on or after December 1 2025 for Athletic Communications. Appointment will be made for one year from date of hire with the possibility of reappointment and / or becoming permanent based on budget department needs and job performance.
This positions responsibilities are carried out under general supervision. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing sports information and media relations programs of moderate scope and complexity. Duties include serving as a media liaison coordinating press conferences and media interviews creating content for communication platforms (including websites social media and game-day programs) and producing statistics rosters and recaps. The incumbent ensures communications comply with NCAA and Conference rules provides input on publicity and marketing initiatives and analyzes statistical summaries for coaches media and conferences. The role requires independent judgment collaboration with university communications and the ability to provide lead work direction to staff and student employees.
Create accurate and engaging content for the athletics website social media platforms and printed / game-day programs.
Education : Equivalent to a bachelors degree in a related field. (Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
Bachelors degree in communications journalism marketing public relations or closely related field.
Working skills and knowledge of communications media relations and related roles.
This position may be required to travel to our Stockton / Turlock campus or third-party agencies.
This position may be required to work beyond regular business hours including evenings weekends holidays and / or during emergencies based on operational needs and in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
Valid California Drivers License
