1\. Role Overview
Mercor is collaborating with a leading AI lab on a large-scale AI training initiative focused on improving sports analysis, rule-based reasoning, and performance evaluation capabilities in advanced language models. We’re seeking experienced Sports experts to contribute by creating and evaluating sports-related prompts and responses. This is a multilingual opportunity. We are specifically seeking experts who are fluent and deeply engaged in one or more of the following languages : Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi. Importantly, we are not looking for translation ability alone. Candidates must have sustained, hands-on engagement with sports within their linguistic and cultural context — including familiarity with league structures, rules, player development systems, statistics conventions, media narratives, and fan communities. This role is ideal for serious sports enthusiasts, analysts, commentators, bloggers, statisticians, fantasy sports players, or dedicated hobbyists who actively participate in sports discourse in their language ecosystem. ## 2\. Key Responsibilities - Author realistic sports prompts spanning game rules, strategy analysis, player evaluation, statistics interpretation, historical comparisons, and league structures - Review and revise AI-generated responses for factual accuracy, rule compliance, contextual nuance, and clarity - Write high-quality human-authored “gold” responses for complex analytical or scenario-based sports questions - Create controlled prompt variations that test subtle differences in rules, scoring systems, player conditions, tournament formats, or historical eras - Evaluate outputs across different tones (analytical, commentary-style, instructional, data-driven) and instruction constraints - Identify model failure cases involving rule misinterpretation, statistical errors, outdated information, or culturally inconsistent sports knowledge ## 3\. Ideal Qualifications - 2+ years of sustained, serious engagement with sports as a hobby or analytical pursuit (e.g., sports writing, statistical analysis, coaching, competitive play, active participation in sports communities) - Active participation in sports discourse within at least one of the following languages : Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi - Strong familiarity with rules, league systems, player development pathways, and sports culture within your language and regional context - Ability to clearly articulate strategic reasoning, statistical insights, and rule-based analysis in the target language - Strong written communication skills and thoughtful editorial judgment ## 4\. More About the Opportunity - Expected commitment : 10–40 hours per week ## 5\. Application Process - Submit your resume, writing samples, or relevant sports-related work to get started - Complete a short form outlining your sports background, areas of focus, and language proficiency - We aim to follow up within a few days with next steps ## 6\. About Mercor Mercor is a talent marketplace that connects top experts with leading AI labs and research organizations. Our investors include Benchmark, General Catalyst, Adam D’Angelo, and Jack Dorsey. Thousands of professionals across law, research, engineering, design, and creative fields contribute to Mercor projects shaping the next generation of AI.
