We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax / Staff Accountant to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with clients while delivering high-quality tax preparation and compliance services. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.
Responsibilities :
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide consultative support.
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including 1040s, K-1s, trusts, S-Corps, and real estate / investment tax filings.
- Assist with onboarding processes by handling backend tax work and supporting financial clean-up.
- Gain exposure to payroll functions, schedules, and forms as part of expanded responsibilities.
- Perform reconciliations and other accounting tasks to support financial accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster trust and long-term collaboration.
- Manage assigned accounts over time, ensuring compliance and overseeing financial processes.
- Provide accurate and timely tax compliance services while adhering to regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as CCH ProSystem Fx.
- Solid understanding of tax regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients.
- Ability to perform reconciliations and basic accounting tasks.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with trusts, S-Corps, and real estate tax is a plus.
- Capability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
