Job description

Job Title : Interim Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant to join their team for a Law Firm short term 3-to-4-month contract . As an Interim Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for GL, Fix assets and month end / year end closing. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be a good collaborator, and have experience in legal, banking or professional services firms handling fixed assets and general ledger accounting.

Location : San Francisco (2 hybrid days in office - Thursday)

What's the Job?

  • Prepare detailed journal entries and perform detailed bank account reconciliations for domestic and international accounts
  • Maintain and reconcile data firm-wide in the Fixed Asset System
  • Provide detailed fixed assets analysis and reports to all office Directors of Administration for the Firm's fixed assets review as part of the audit process
  • Prepare reliable information for reporting to key external vendors and service providers, including auditors, tax accountants, underwriters and their representatives, and loan providers
  • Assist the General Ledger Accounting Manager with ad hoc projects that increase the value of accounting and finance services to clients, attorneys, timekeepers, and the Firm

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration highly preferred
  • At least three (3) years of relevant financial accounting and general ledger experience in a professional service type firm. Prefer Law Firm experience.
  • Must have Sage experience and Enterprise Systems would be plus.
  • Direct experience in general ledger account and bank reconciliations and analyses, variance analyses, maintaining and analyzing accounting ledgers with multiple entities, the month-end journal entry process, and financial reporting
  • Direct experience in maintaining all aspects of Fixed Assets reporting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical accounting principles and theory while producing accurate and detail oriented financial work product
