Job descriptionAbout the job :
This role supports monthly close and financial reporting activities for insurance entities, with a focus on Statutory accounting. It’s ideal for someone looking to grow within the finance function while contributing to quarterly and annual NAIC filings.
- We’re looking for someone who :
- Has 2–4 years of experience in P&C Statutory Insurance Accounting
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related Business field
- Has 1–3 years of direct insurance accounting experience (CPA preferred)
- Understands Property & Casualty insurance accounting principles and terminology
- Is highly proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Manages tasks independently while adapting to shifting priorities
- Has strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Communicates clearly and works well with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic
- What you’ll do :
- Record and reconcile journal entries for revenue, investments, losses, and expenses
- Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and file quarterly / annual statements for assigned insurance entities
- Submit various regulatory filings
- Support internal and external audit processes and documentation
- Ensure internal controls are operating effectively
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of key expense categories to support monthly close
- Provide financial reporting support and assist with fluctuation analysis
