Department Overview
The Chaplaincy department provides support to families, spiritual assessment and working with families experiencing a crisis. In addition, the serve as an outreach to community clergy, facilitate in religious rituals in the hospital (I.e. baptism) and provide support to staff.
Position Summary
Provide spiritual and emotional support to children, families, and staff. Coordinate patient / family visits with community spiritual leaders and facilitate rituals as needed. Ability to provide inter-faith care to patients and families.
Specialized Chaplains (ex. muslim, shaman, American Indian spiritual leader, Buddhist etc.) will support the patient population they represent in addition to interfaith patient needs, as requested.
Qualifications :
A graduate-level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or appropriate theological training recognized by one's faith tradition. Minimum of four units of clinical pastoral education (CPE). Provide documentation of current endorsement and / or ordination or letter of good standing in accordance with the requirements of one's own faith tradition. One-year hospital experience preferably with children. Board certification for chaplains preferred.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
