Position Purpose
The Mechatronics Engineer will contribute to the development, design, and integration of advanced automation systems into manufacturing processes. This role involves the design, development, and delivery of precision automation solutions to meet stringent performance and reliability criteria. The candidate will leverage their expertise in Mechanical / Electrical engineering, Control systems, instrumentation, motion systems and robotics, programming, and system integration to drive innovation and continuous improvement, while ensuring safety and industry standards compliance. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders are key for success in this role.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering
Proven success in developing, programming and implementing control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and microcontrollers
Demonstrated success with sensor integration with common automation sensing and data acquisition in automation : position, force / load, and vision systems
Proven ability to work with robotics systems
Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs
Desired
Proficiency in simulation and modeling software such as Simulink or LabVIEW
Experience with vision systems and image processing techniques
Experience with Manufacturing 4.0 principles, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in automation and robotics is a plus
Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with advanced control strategies, such as adaptive control, robust control, and nonlinear control
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet / IP)
Ability to design and optimize mechanical components and systems using CAD software
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements, stakeholder objectives, and engage in project planning
Develop control algorithms and software for automation systems, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and HMI design
Integrate advanced robotics, actuators, sensors, and control systems into automation equipment
Conduct data analysis, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to meet stringent precision and reliability requirements
Model systems using fundamental engineering principles, conduct simulations, and execute data analysis using various methods and software tools to validate designs and optimize performance
Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and precision engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on the operation and maintenance of automation systems
Prepare and deliver detailed project documentation, technical reports, and presentations to stakeholders including progress updates and project outcomes

The range for this position is $94,161.00 - $129,472.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
