The Central Sterile / Sterile Processing Department is responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical tools and equipment. This team ensures that sterilized tools are organized into trays containing the instruments required for surgery and checks equipment to make sure it is in good repair and up to date.

A caregiver in this position works daytime shift which would typically be 7 : 00AM - 4 : 00PM however hours can vary / require some flexibility.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Manage the operations of and caregivers in the CPD department.
• Serve as an expert on sterilization systems.
• Develop annual departmental strategic and operational plans with the director.
• Prepare annual budgets.
• Manage staffing requirements and cost-effective programs.
• Supervise the team that processes and distributes sterile equipment and supplies to clinical areas.
• Develop, review and maintain all quality processes, safety programs, customer service programs and sterile monitoring programs for the department.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
