Job description

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Rental Strategic Account Manager in Baltimore, Maryland. The Rental Strategic Account Manager is responsible for targeting and growing strategic rental accounts, and supporting the development of regional and national accounts working directly with Caterpillar rental national account managers. The individual in this position will work with rental sales representatives and management to develop key target accounts that drive BCP and Allied rental business. Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of account management experience. Dedicated self-starters with proven rental industry and leadership experience. College degree preferred.

Requirements for the Rental Strategic Account Manager position include :

  • Thorough knowledge of use of Carter CRM and lost rents.
  • be able to effectively market equipment rentals and sales to customers.
  • Must be able to monitor business environment to support and guide management in identifying and addressing business opportunities and challenges.
  • Must be a good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Strong PC skills and the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions.
  • Must be willing to work hours required to meet job and customer demands.
  • Promote a positive customer experience.

Physical requirements must be met for the Rental Strategic Account Manager job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally lift and / or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.

Compensation Range : $95,000 - $120,000 a year

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, candidate qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business factors. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance e.g. discretionary incentive programs or non-discretionary incentive plans including overtime.
