Project Engineer III

Summary

Works independently in performing most assignments. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work as part of a major project or total project. This position requires a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Candidates must be capable of self-sufficiency and working on all aspects of projects.

Essential Functions

• Communicate with clients to identify the scope of engineering services required.
• Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex assignments.
• Performs detailed and accurate analysis and design necessary to fulfill the scope of engineering services.
• Prepares specifications and provides final construction bid documents conforming to the scope of engineering services for supervisor's review and approval.
• Conducts periodic construction site observations for the project and attends project meetings as required by clients.
• Performs monthly billing of clients for work completed.
• Acts as a project liaison between clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Assists in preparation of proposals and / or assists in presentations for potential jobs.
• Routinely communicates with Principals, Design Group Leaders, Project Managers, CADD technicians, engineering technicians, surveyors, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and administrative staff.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Computer literate with emphasis on continued development / knowledge of various engineering software programs as appropriate. AutoCAD is a plus.
