Position Description Flagstaff Academy seeks a school counselor for the 2026-27 school year. The candidate will provide holistic counseling services to K-5th grade students to enhance personal/social, academic, and career success.

Roles include crisis intervention, short-term counseling, group counseling, 504 plan coordination, consultation with teachers and parents, participation in our MTSS (formerly RtI) process, behavior interventions, academic planning and support, and transition planning.

The candidate will work closely with the elementary school assistant principal and the mental health team to enhance a comprehensive school counseling program to meet the needs of K-8 school.

Collection and reporting of data, parent collaboration, district meetings are also expected. Specifically, we seek an educator with:

• Excellent communication skills Strong skills working with families and community partners Master's Degree in school counseling Experience working with 504 plans and students with disabilities Ability to maintain high ethical and legal standards in a school setting Knowledge of the ASCA National Model Willingness to work in a comprehensive counseling program Elementary School experience preferred Familiarity with Infinite Campus preferred Charter school experience preferred The candidate’s pedagogy should be student-centered and practiced in differentiated instruction with a particular focus on the teaching through investigation and inquiry. • Life/AD&D insurance - Flagstaff Academy provides a Life/AD&D insurance policy with a $40,000 benefit for each eligible employee.
• Short Term Disability - Flagstaff Academy provides a Short Term Disability policy for each eligible employee.
• Paid Time Off - Employees are granted PTO based on years of service and number of contract days. Part-time employees are granted PTO prorated at the percentage of a 40-hour week.
