Bishop McNamara High School is a co-ed independent, Catholic day school founded in 1964 by the Brothers of the Holy Cross. The school is located minutes from Washington, DC, serves 860 students, and seeks a Student Activities and Campus Ministry Coordinator reporting to the Director of Campus Ministry and Student Activities.
Position Summary
Bishop McNamara High School is accepting applications for a Student Activities Coordinator to join our staff starting July 1, 2025. The Student Activities Coordinator supports student life and spiritual development within the Holy Cross tradition, working under the Director of Campus Ministry and Student Activities. Their primary focus is facilitating student engagement through leadership development, activities, and faith formation. They manage student organizations and events, including clubs, student council, and school-wide celebrations, while supporting moderators and student leaders. Additionally, they play a key role in the retreat program, helping coordinate and chaperone various spiritual experiences from freshman to senior year. They also assist with leadership training initiatives like the McNamara conference and Holy Cross student engagement opportunities. The position requires someone with relevant education and experience who can work collaboratively while fostering student development in alignment with Holy Cross values.
The Student Activities Coordinator helps to educate and form young men and women in the Catholic faith by supporting the emotional, physical, and spiritual development of the student body by providing a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities for students to participate in. These activities allow for the education of the hearts and minds of the students, helping them to broaden horizons and develop skills that will be applicable throughout their lives. Through the group nature of many of these programs, students are encouraged to be family and build respect within the school community as well as serve those in need outside of the school.

Unique Responsibilities
- The Student Activities Coordinator reports to the Director of Campus Ministry and Student Activities.
- Support Class, Club and Activity Moderators and student leaders with schedules, selection of new members, Induction Ceremonies and monthly activities.
- Assist the Director of Campus Ministry and Student Activities with organizing and implementing all Student Council efforts.
- Collaborate with other colleagues for student orientation days, pep rallies, homecoming, spirit week, and the advisory program.
