Your Impact :

Practicum students at Vista will gain hands-on experience in the education sector. By observing and assisting lead teachers to implement rigorous, standards-aligned lessons, Vista Interns develop the skills to cultivate a love for learning, positive school culture, and a focused learning environment for students of all backgrounds and ability levels. Depending on the requirements of your degree program, your impact and involvement may include the following :

  • Assist teachers in the classroom, supporting student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with staff on planning and implementing lesson plans and activities.
  • Support individual or small groups of students with academic assistance.
  • Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development as appropriate.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including preparing materials and data entry.
  • Engage in mentorship and training opportunities with experienced educators.

Commitment :

  • Complete the minimum hours required by your degree program during the semester.
  • Exact schedule will be coordinated to meet both academic and program requirements.
  • Advocate for your education - communicate clearly and in a timely fashion with your mentor teacher and / or campus leaders about what you would like to see / experience during your time at Vista, as well as any additional components that you are responsible for completing in order to fulfill your practicum requirements.

  • Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach to tasks.
