Executive Director, Creative and Content Studio
We are looking for an Executive Director of our Creative and Content Studioto join our Brand and Communications team within our Marketing department. In this role, the Executive Director of Creative and Content Studio will be a visionary leader responsible for shaping and executing the next generation of our company’s creative and content strategy. This individual will work to position athenahealth as the premier brand in healthcare IT by leading a talented team of designers, copywriters, content strategists, and producers. The Executive Directo will work to collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop innovative marketing programs and campaigns that fuel business growth. This role requires a blend of strategic oversight, creative excellence, operational rigor, and leadership to drive impactful solutions that elevate our brand across all touchpoints.

Job Responsibilities
- Visionary Leadership : Set the overarching creative vision for athenahealth, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market positioning, and establish the structures and processes to ensure exceptional execution of that vision
- Be a thought partner to the VP of brand and performance marketing and executive leadership. Bring creative and content strategy expertise to the marketing leadership team. Help to shape the operations, capabilities, and impact of the team.
- Team Development : Inspire, mentor, and lead a diverse team of creative and content professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Creative leadership : Evolve and drive creative strategies to strengthen our brand at every touchpoint. With an eye for simplicity, bring your passion for category-breaking creative and ensure work exceeds industry standards. Provide creative direction for high profile, larger projects, as needed.
- Innovative Storytelling : Collaborate with key stakeholders to tell the story of athenahealth in new and unexpected ways that differentiate our brand and solutions in the marketplace. Champion the transformation of complex information into compelling narratives that enhance understanding and support our brand identity across various platforms.
- Content Strategy Oversight : Oversee the content studio which serves as the engine for creating quality content, at scale. Empower and activate the content marketing team to develop and evolve content marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences and drive measurable business results.
- Process Optimization : Streamline and improve creative processes to enhance efficiency, alignment, and collaboration across teams. Ensure timely delivery of project milestones against tight timelines.
- Resource Management : Oversee a high-volume delivery model while balancing creative excellence with operational requirements such as budget management and timeline adherence. Oversee use of external agencies and contractors and optimize use based on need and cost.
- Logistics Coordination : Manage team logistics including hiring processes, budget oversight, and capacity planning to facilitate seamless collaboration between internal and external teams.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure all work—whether produced internally or by external partners—adheres to brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Build strong partnerships across the organization to creatively fulfill brand and business objectives.
- Content Planning : Oversee the development and execution of cross-functional content calendars for timely production and publication.
- Impact Measurement : Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of creative initiatives and content assets over time, leveraging insights to inform future projects.
