Summary

Our Deer Valley Substation Construction team has an immediate opening for a Substation Journeyman .

The work hours for this position are Monday-Friday 6 : 00AM - 2 : 30PM (AZ / MST)

Minimum Requirements :

• High school diploma or GED
• Completed a Registered Electrician Apprenticeship Program OR an equivalent training program (as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training)
• One (1) year experience as an Electrician
• Must currently have a valid manual Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with no mechanical restrictions and ability to meet all DOT requirements
• Subject to overtime and or / out-of-town assignments
• Must live within reasonable distance (one (1) hour) of headquarters.
• This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300lbs or less
• The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center, a facility that will be located 38 mileswest of downtown Phoenix,on a date to be determined by the Company.

Testing Information

Tests are only administered to referred candidates. More information about our tests and the testing process can be found HERE.

A written [paper and pencil] test will be administered.

A test using a computer with keyboard will be administered.

A hands-on skills test will be administered.

Role Type

Onsite : Requires work to be performed in the field and / or at an APS facility. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, this may include, but is not limited to, working at a power plant, job site, or in the community.

Eligibility :

Must live or relocate within reasonable distance to the headquarters. Reasonable distance is defined as one (1) hour for Metro and State Region locations.

CIP Requirement :

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
