River Oaks Baptist SchoolHouston, TX, United StatesRiver Oaks Baptist School is actively searching for substitute nurses for the 23-24 school year. A substitute nurse will be responsible for the administration of first aid, medication, specialized medical treatment, and care for ill or injured students and faculty / staff. A successful candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, possess a license to practice professional nursing (R.N. preferred) in the State of Texas, and have nursing experience (school nursing preferred). Certification in CPR and experience with Type 1 (juvenile insulin dependent) diabetes is required. The candidate will demonstrate professional acumen, strong interpersonal skills, and respect for the confidentiality and dignity of students, faculty, and staff. This position is supported by a fellow school nurse and the Associate Head of School for Student Support, who is also a trained nurse. As with all faculty / staff openings, the School seeks candidates eager to support our mission of preparing students to meet life's challenges and lead tomorrow's world through a superior educational program undergirded by faith in Jesus Christ and Christian principles.
To be considered for this position, qualified candidates will have :
- A vibrant Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- A valid license to practice professional nursing (R.N.) in the State of Texas
- Professional experience in nursing. Experience in school nursing, emergenyc / ICU nursing, pediatric nursing or community health is preferable
- Experience with Type 1 (juvenile insulin dependent) diabetes
- Current CPR certification
- Basic computer literacy
