Requisition Number: 73635

The company built on breakthroughs.
Join us.

Corning is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. From the depths of the ocean to the farthest reaches of space, our technologies push the boundaries of what’s possible.

How do we do this? With our people. They break through limitations and expectations – not once in a career, but every day. They help move our company, and the world, forward.

At Corning, there are endless possibilities for making an impact. You can help connect the unconnected, drive the future of automobiles, transform at-home entertainment, and ensure the delivery of lifesaving medicines. And so much more.

Come break through with us.

Our Solar business delivers industry leading, U.S.-made solar components. We manufacture hyper-pure polysilicon, high-quality solar wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules, leveraging our leadership in advanced manufacturing to serve growing energy demand. You will be a part of advancing critical U.S. supply chains and delivering unmatched quality and reliability to customers.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Supervisor to oversee and manage the quality team for incoming quality and module reliability. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all production processes and outputs meet the highest quality standards while adhering to regulatory requirements and company objectives. This position requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of Quality Coordinators and Specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the quality team.
  • Oversee quality control checks and inspections on the production floor to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor quality of incoming materials and module reliability to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality discrepancies.
  • Align strategies with market price trends to minimize risks of obsolescence and overstocking
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, certifications, and regulations (e.g., ISO, OSHA, environmental standards).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assessments, audits, and compliance reports.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors during quality inspections.
  • Regularly report quality metrics, issues, and progress to senior management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for quality-related concerns from the production team.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align quality objectives with production goals.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Post High School accreditation Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0-3+ years of experience in a quality assurance/control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment (solar manufacturing experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience managing teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with the daily workflow of the quality department
  • International & multi-culture communication & coordination ability
  • Strong ownership of achieving plant goals
  • Creative and with strong continuous improvement work
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skill
  • Ability to change the thinking of others to establish long-term behaviors, norms, culture

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience working in the solar energy industry, particularly with solar modules or photovoltaic systems.
  • Familiarity with solar module manufacturing processes, performance testing, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of U.S. energy regulations and compliance requirements for solar technologies.
  • Certifications in solar energy technologies or project management (e.g., NABCEP, PMP).

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

The range for this position is $63,086.00 - $86,743.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
