Company Description
Icarus is at the forefront of aerospace innovation, developing solar-powered stratospheric drones designed to enhance global connectivity and observation. Operating at altitudes 20 times closer to Earth than Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, our drones deliver superior 5G direct-to-device communication and ultra-high-resolution imagery. With the capability to remain airborne for up to a year through autonomous solar-powered operations, Icarus offers continuous, cost-effective solutions that surpass traditional cell towers and satellite systems.
Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing, purchasing, and order-tracking operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is critical in driving the success of our manufacturing and production goals while ensuring the seamless flow of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, focusing on cost control, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, and performance to ensure alignment with company standards and requirements.
- Create and manage purchase orders, track order status, and resolve discrepancies with invoices or deliveries.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by developing and executing material demand-supply plans based on production requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to address design changes, material needs, and process improvements.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to sole or single-source suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, visiting facilities to assess technical capabilities and capacity as needed.
- Analyze procurement data, generate metrics and reports, and present findings to senior management.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) processes by collaborating on supplier selection, cost targets, and manufacturability reviews.
- Guide and mentor junior staff in procurement and supply chain practices.
