Qualifications for Central Supply Clerk:
Previous experience as Supply Clerk required
Knowledge of basic medical terminology required
High school diploma or GED required
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills required
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers
Job Summary: Ensure the facility is always adequately stocked with appropriate medical supplies and equipment. Must be aware of budgetary requirements when purchasing products for the facility. Reports to the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
Responsibilities of Central Supply Clerk:
Maintain and order all medical supplies and equipment for the facility from the appropriate vendors.
Unpack all supplies upon arrival and or delivery.
Ensure all purchase orders are properly, prepared, signed, and submitted as required in procurement policies and procedures.
Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and return to vendor as required.
Assist in developing methods for determining the quantity of supplies and equipment required.
Ensure various departments are properly charged with supplies they have received for cost allocation purposes.
Ensure that supplies and equipment are properly maintained.
Ensure inventory is updated and storage instructions are followed as required.
Maintain supply and storage rooms in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
Clean and check equipment as directed/necessary.
Report equipment malfunctions to your supervisor as soon as possible.
Manage Part B supplies and documentation.
Stock and distribute supplies to each nursing unit and other locations as needed.
Maintain a documented, organized system that is readily accessible to others.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
