SALARY RANGE
24.00 - 26.00 per hour
The JCCSF Summer Camp is now hiring a Camper Support Coordinator for 2025!
Summer Camp at the JCCSF offers one-week to three-week sessions in traditional day camp and specialty camp settings for campers in grades K-10. Our classic day camps feature arts & crafts, STEAM projects, and sports. Specialty camps include visual arts, nature exploration, musical theater, science and more.
Summer Camp is in session June 2 - August 22, 2025.
The Camper Support Coordinator works with families in advance of camp to help develop, design, and implement a support plan for specific campers who may have extra needs camp staff should be aware of. They are the primary contact for parents of campers with escalated behavioral and physical needs. They are also responsible for keeping track of these campers throughout the camp day, checking in with them and their counselors to ensure the proper implementation of the developed plan. They must be able to communicate with camp families as well as coach staff on how to best handle situations.
The position requires a strong background working with children in a school or camp setting, experience organizing and planning youth programs, and experience supervising camp staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support camp counselors and specialists by creating support plans, behavior charts, and camper break schedules.
- Work with paraprofessionals to coordinate camp schedules if applicable.
- Manage budget for any support supplies.
- Provide weekly activity communication.
- Support with camper pick-up and drop-off process.
- Create a safe, supportive, stimulating and fun environment for campers.
- Ensure campers' safety at all times.
- Set clear and consistent limits and resolve behavioral problems with assistance from supervisors.
- Model appropriate behavior for campers and staff.
- Serve as a member of camp leadership team
- Support camp staff members, including meetings and verbal / written communications.
- Help organize and lead staff training.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations.
- Step-in for staff breaks if necessary.
- On occasion, may be required to transport campers via JCCSF vehicle.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
WORKING CONDITIONS
Will be working directly with youth ages 5-13 in a variety of locations frequented by the campers, both indoors (classrooms, basketball gym, art studio, catering kitchen) and outdoors (field trips, sports field, playgrounds). The location will be dependent on the level of support needed at any given time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand / walk for up to six hours per day. Ability to drive, including passenger van.

37.5 hours per week from 6 / 2 / 2025 - 8 / 22 / 2025
