Job descriptionPreoperative Preparation - Set up the operating room by sterilizing and arranging instruments supplies and equipment while preparing patients for surgery through proper positioning and sterile draping Intraoperative Support - Assist during surgery by passing instruments maintaining a sterile field and anticipating the surgical team’s needs while tracking instruments and sponges Postoperative Duties - Support postoperative care by applying dressings transporting patients to recovery and cleaning and restocking the operating room Safety and Compliance - Follow strict infection control protocols ensure safe handling of specimens and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards Collaboration and Communication - Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and sterile processing staff while communicating effectively in high-pressure situations High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014 Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (., GYN, General and Plastics) Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience in a surgical setting

The Surgical Technologist (ST) in our operating room, assists surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members before, during, and after surgical procedures. Surgical Techs primary goal is to help ensure safe, efficient, and sterile surgical environments.
