Job descriptionSet up, manage, and maintain instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures. Ensure a sterile environment while assisting during invasive procedures. Conduct meticulous counts of instruments with the circulator before surgery and prior to closing. Assist with patient positioning, transport, and equipment retrieval. Prepare and sterilize instruments for future use. Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or have a military certification in Operating Room Specialization. National certification from the NBSTSA is required. CST certification is mandatory for employment in our hospitals. Current BLS certification from the AHA or American Red Cross is needed. 1-2 years of experience as a surgical technician is preferred.
