Survey Operations Analyst
This role is in the survey operations department of YouGov's Scientific Research Group (SRG). Scientific Research is YouGov's business unit responsible for technology, academic, health, and public affairs research. This role would sit with the operations unit that works with SRG's researchers and data analysts fielding cutting edge research for academics, health researchers, policy think tanks and unique corporate clients.
The survey analyst role includes the following responsibilities :
- Programming complex surveys using an in-house scripting language based on Python.
- Setting up surveys for fielding in YouGov's multiple markets and languages
- Testing survey appearance and user experience on various web browsing platforms and devices
- Monitoring, investigating and reporting on data collection issues resulting from survey programming
- Cleaning and preparing survey data deliverables
Qualifications
We are looking for job candidates with the following qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or similar fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
At least 1 year of programming experience in Python and / or R
Experience manipulating and summarizing large datasets with statistical packages and data management tools (e.g., R, Python, SPSS)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
Results-driven focus and ability to see issues to completion in a timely manner
Excellent communication skills with internal clients, both written and oral
Ability to excel and work with cross-functional teams, all while working remotely
Nice to have, but not required :
Prior experience or training in survey research
Experience with terminal commands and Git
