Senior Sustainability Consultant

Reports To : CEO / Crete President of Sustainability

SUMMARY : Our Sustainability Consultant works collaboratively with Crete United Partner companies to implement sustainability practices across their business, supports operations in ensuring sustainable practices are applied during service delivery, and supports sales team in shaping sustainable consulting engagements.

DUTIES / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintaining awareness of sustainable business practices and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with Partner company leadership teams to implement sustainable business practices
  • Collaborate with Operations team members to implement sustainable practices are applied during service delivery
  • Collaborate with Sales team to shape sustainable consulting engagements
  • Contribute to Emerald's internal knowledge management system by updating templates, QAQC forms, learning modules and related tools and resources
  • Contributing expert knowledge on how to improve the sustainable performance of Crete and its partners projects by suggesting ideas, completing calculations and research, conducting analysis, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration
  • Maintain existing accreditations and achieve additional accreditations
  • Performs all other duties assigned

QUALIFICATONS :

  • Education and / or Experience - Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, sustainability or equivalent, sustainability or equivalent. Preferred MBA, CPA, FSA. Three to five years' experience.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and interpret common industry publications. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and / or board of directors. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
  • Mathematical Skills -Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. This role requires an above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office& excel. Must have a strong knowledge of sustainable business practices and reporting requirements.
  • Other Qualifications - Must be a team player. Ability to coordinate and work with other on various projects and agendas.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

    While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the office. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must regularly move up to 15 pounds and occasionally move up to 20 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary. The other 10% of the time this position is required to visit on site jobs, where they might be required to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) depending on the job.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

    While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts while on job sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate in the office and fluctuates on job sites. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate 90% of the time, and less than 10% of the time will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.
