As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
- Leads research and analysis used to develop sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations.
- Collaborates with other leaders to implement processes and technologies that reduce the organization's carbon footprint.
- Promotes and explains the organization's sustainability philosophy to internal and external audiences. Ensures that project / department milestones / goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Coordinates the project sustainability process through an integrative approach, beginning with establishing mandatory and voluntary goals for the project, conducting an interdisciplinary green charrette, developing a green plan with strategies and responsibility assignments, ensuring that the plan is implemented, and certification is achieved.
- Provides onsite management and expertise to assigned project and or program.
- Manages onsite LEED processes on assigned project and or program.
- Stays up to date on current best practices and clearly articulates changes to approaches or strategies to internal and external team members from design, construction, and management.
- Promotes green workplace practices and maintains the visible presence of JE Dunn within the local and national green building community, including developing relationships with USGBC (locally and nationally), Enterprise Community Partners, and the Center for Active Design, ASHRAE and others.
- Maintains fiscal records and follows procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Understands business plan and manages financial goals.
- Creates and communicates financial targets and goals in order to accomplish broader financial objectives.
- Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds appropriately. Assesses and mitigates financial risks.
- Develops business plans and makes operational decisions in light of broader financial goals and constraints.
- Acts as a day to day contact for any miscellaneous ‘green building’ related items.
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
- Communication skills, verbal and written – Intermediate
- Ability to conduct effective presentations both internally and externally
- Proficiency in MS Office – Intermediate
- Knowledge of the USGBC (US Green Building Council) both nationally and locally
- Proficiency in USGBC LEED Online – Advanced
- Proficiency in USGBC’s LEED for New Construction, LEED for Commercial Interiors, and LEED for Core and Shell V3 and V4 – Advanced
- Ability to help guide JE Dunn team members through a LEED project – Advanced
- Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN construction principals
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project
- Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally
Bachelors’ degree in architecture, architecture engineering, construction engineering or related field (Required)
8+ years sustainability experience (Required)
