The Systems Administrator will work in a small team of dedicated individuals. Their primary responsibility will be with maintaining the infrastructure for a major U.S. website. They will be responsible for all systems, daily administration, and documentation of the company's server, network, virtualization, storage and security. This individual will work with software development team to explore and resolve performance and / or error conditions. Systems administration also assists the helpdesk in completing tickets. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
A Day in the Life of a System Administrator :
Will work primarily with windows systems managing users and computers in Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange and anti-malware solutions.
Will be responsible for performing system updates in accordance with update schedules.
Manage and maintain backup infrastructure.
Process, log, track and close tickets.
Automate redundant and repetitive tasks.
Integrate services where possible.
Create and maintain documentation on systems and user manuals.
Implement, assess and test new systems and services.
Work with other departments to help achieve shared goals.
Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Research and champion new technologies.
Assist other Systems Administrators and Helpdesk with duties as assigned.

Judgment : Understand objectives, security, policies and procedure and use this understanding to fill in and document undefined and grey areas.
Technical Skills : Understands specialty equipment, keeps knowledge up to date, is a technical resource for others, follows technology practices and standards.
Security : Have a strong understanding of best practices and will recommend changes and implement security into all systems by design.

Education :
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field required
Experience :
The candidate will have 2 or more years of experience with the systems listed below and familiarity with concepts, best practices, and procedures related to these systems.
