Tax accountant Jobs in Atlanta, GA

Are you detail-oriented with a strong understanding of sales tax returns and business licenses? We're looking for a Sales Tax Analyst to play a key role in ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing sales and use tax returns, managing tax payments, maintaining tax records, and assisting with audits. A background in financials and prior business license experience will be a plus!

salary : $30.04 - $30.05 per hour

work hours : 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

• Review general ledger data for accuracy and ensure that all data is reconciled in a timely manner that will be loaded into the applicable sales / use tax software compliance system. Conduct research and document taxability questions, tax rates, jurisdictional information, etc.
• Sales / use tax compliance files for all units and jurisdictions in accordance with the Internal Audit guidelines. File copies of statements, bills, tax returns and correspondence as appropriate
• Ensure that documentation is captured and meets Tax Department standards and requirements.
• Provide support for audits as needed.
• Responsible for reviewing journal entries and accounting adjustments and adjust related general ledger accounts as needed
• Responsible for monthly sales and use tax reconciliations required for internal reporting purposes. Analyze and reconcile sales and use tax liability accounts to the general ledger on a timely basis. Determine accuracy of payments and accrual
• Prepare and submit for approval journal entries as required to adjust the accounts.
