Job descriptionManage and review income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, prepare disclosures in GAAP financial statements, and perform complex bank regulatory tax calculations. Manage tax compliance activities related to the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns. Oversee compliance with tax requirements applicable to tax SPEs. Oversee compliance with SOX 404 documentation requirements. Research complex tax-related matters and implement effects of changes in tax laws and regulations. Implement policies, procedures and practices related to tax provision and compliance processes. Manage the exchange of documentation with external auditors in quarterly review and annual audit, including SOX 404 and internal audits. Assist on and help manage audits by taxing authorities. Assist in tax-planning projects, integrating acquisitions, and other special projects. Manage and help develop tax staff. Bachelor's degree in accounting, strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting 7 - 10 years of corporate tax experience (Big Four public accounting and / or large corporate tax department experience in banking / financial services industry preferred), including experience in a management capacity Strong Excel skills required. Proficiency with tax provision software (such as Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud or OneSource Tax Provision) or data analytic tools (such as Alteryx), preferred. Strong analytical review and judgment, communication, organizational and project management skills Ability to meet strict deadlines and to work collaboratively under tight timeframes. Ability to adapt effectively and efficiently to change (systems, processes, etc.) CPA designation and advanced degree preferred.

Job Summary :
Manages Webster's corporate income tax accounting and reporting in accordance with applicable tax laws and banking regulations, its corporate income tax compliance and related operational tax functions, and assists on audits by taxing authorities and in tax-planning and other special projects. This position will report to the Managing Director, Corporate Tax.
- The ideal candidate would be based within our footprint of CT, NY, NJ, MA, RI with the expectation of periodic travel to Waterbury, CT or other locations for team and business events. Candidates outside this footprint will also be considered

The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000USD to $170,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
