POSITION SUMMARY :

We are hiring on behalf of a well-known brand for a Staff Sales Tax Contractor position. This role involves analyzing sales / use tax source documents, preparing tax return calculations, and creating related journal entries for review by the Sales Tax Team. The contractor will also ensure compliance with tax filing deadlines by maintaining and updating a monthly tax calendar.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Prepare and calculate monthly sales / use and related tax returns, troubleshooting tax issues with the team as needed.
• Maintain tax records and related schedules associated with multi-state, county, and city sales / use tax filings.
• Gather and analyze sales data from the ERP system.
• Assist with research and resolution of federal, state, and local tax notices in a timely manner.
• Reconcile tax discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Ensure compliance with accounting controls by following SOX procedures and maintaining financial security through internal controls.
