Job description

About Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning

Are you ready to reimagine what’s possible in education? Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning, a public secondary charter school in Albuquerque’s North Valley, is seeking professional staff who are bold, creative, and passionate about transforming student outcomes and breaking traditional boundaries in education.

Archer Academy is an innovative learning community designed to help students accelerate through high school while receiving the academic, social, and instructional supports they need to succeed. Through flexible programming, targeted intervention, and a supportive school culture, students can progress efficiently toward graduation while building the skills necessary for college, careers, and community.

This is more than a job—it is an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven learning community. At Archer Academy, staff, families, and school leaders work side by side to create an environment where students can grow, succeed, and reach ambitious goals. We are proud of the community we are building and are looking for individuals who are excited to help move it forward.

About the Role
Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning is seeking motivated and collaborative professionals who are excited to be part of an innovative learning community designed to help students accelerate through high school while receiving the support they need to succeed. Staff at Archer Academy work as a team to create a positive, responsive, and student-centered environment where new ideas are welcomed, and continuous improvement is part of the culture.

Individuals in this role join a small, mission-driven team that values collaboration, creativity, and strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Staff work closely with school leadership and peers to support daily school operations, contribute to a welcoming school climate, and help implement programs that advance student success.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide engaging instruction in secondary elective courses that support student interests, skill development, and pathways toward college, career, and community readiness.
  • Design and deliver lessons aligned with Archer Academy’s learning acceleration model, using instructional strategies that promote engagement, creativity, and real-world application.
  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports diverse learners and encourages active participation and collaboration.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports so all students can access and succeed in elective coursework.
  • Collaborate with special education staff and other teachers to ensure students with diverse learning needs receive appropriate supports within the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to help students stay on track with course expectations and credit attainment.
  • Maintain organized systems for grading, attendance, and communication with students and families.
  • Engage with students and families in a professional and welcoming manner to build strong relationships and support student success.
  • Participate in team meetings, collaborative planning, and school initiatives that strengthen instructional practice and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative school culture that values innovation, teamwork, and shared responsibility for student success.
  • Support school events, family engagement opportunities, and activities that help strengthen the school community.

Qualifications

  • Current New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Level II or III Secondary Teaching License.
  • Demonstrated ability to design engaging lessons that promote student interest, creativity, and skill development.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills with diverse student populations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues as part of a supportive professional team.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt instruction and take initiative in a dynamic school environment.
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse academic, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Experience with the Nurtured Heart Approach or other strengths-based classroom management strategies is preferred.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values innovation in education, and is motivated to contribute to a supportive school community focused on helping students reach their goals.
