Job Description

Job Title : Radiologic Technologist

Job Specialty : Computed Tomography (CT)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Evenings, 1500-2330, Monday to Friday (5x8 Hr)

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : One year of related experience required

License : Registered Technologist (R.T.)

Certifications :

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Preferred

Must-Have :

Skills in patient care, time management, imaging, documentation, process improvements, scheduling, medical imaging, radiation safety, maintenance, and teaching

Job Description :

Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.

Perform high-quality images and exams on patients, ensuring sensitivity to patient needs.

Follow standards of safe radiation practice and adhere to ALARA principles.

Produce complete, accurate, and timely diagnostic images.

Prepare patients for exams and provide necessary instructions to patients and / or families.

Assist patients during exams and ensure proper positioning.

Monitor patients and equipment during procedures, document occurrences, and report patient conditions.

Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment / resources.

Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.

Assist with patient transport as needed.

Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.

Execute technologist duties for other registered modalities as assigned.

Provide on-call coverage outside standard scheduled hours as per department policy.

Accurately input charges and data for procedures and supplies used.

Complete necessary medical imaging paperwork for each exam.

Prepare exam room, equipment, and materials.

Ensure technical operation of equipment, notify service for maintenance, and log issues per department procedure.

Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.

Conduct quality checks and document equipment maintenance as required.

Proactively identify problems and follow up with management.

Maintain professional relationships with physicians and staff, and participate in ongoing education.

Engage in clinical training for students / staff technologists and participate in professional activities.

Actively participate in department / hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.

Comply with all State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.

Contribute to ACR accreditation as requested.

Demonstrate effective time management and adapt to changing technologies and policies.

Floating may be required to any location within sixty miles of the original assignment.

Please note : This job description is for a travel position within clinical-allied settings. English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required.
