Job descriptionAssociate degree in a related field required. A minimum of 6 years of AutoCAD experience, including a minimum of 2 years with AutoCAD 2012 or higher required. Telecommunications industry or CAD-based engineering experience required. Working experience with the national CAD Standard preferred. Working knowledge of Advance Steel, SolidWorks, or Revit preferred. Approximately 10% travel may be required to support the position's responsibilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results. Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
The Team
We are seeking a Computer Aided Drafting ("CAD") Tech to join American Tower's U.S. Tower division's Engineering team. The team maintains the safety and longevity of the Company's towers and ensures high-level compliance with industry standards. Day to day you will perform CAD for the development of new products and for research and process improvements. As a CAD Tech, you will partner cross-functionally to help determine objectives and requirements for new programs associated with diverse CAD services.
Responsibilities
What You Can Offer Us
- Operate AutoCAD at an advanced skill level and with an expert-level understanding of national and Company standards.
- Guide, lead, train, and support coworkers providing CAD services.
- Lead the development of standards and guidelines for CAD services used throughout the department. Develop and implement quality control procedures.
- Develop and maintain a library of standard and typical CAD details.
- Resolve technical matters pertaining to all CAD services. Perform detailed QA / QC of CAD products.
- Provide technical leadership when new CAD software, major upgrades, and equipment are being selected.
- Stay up to date on technical methods and developments in CAD services.
- Other duties as assigned.
