Overview
AMDA College of the Performing Arts, with campuses in New York City and Hollywood, is one of the foremost post-secondary performing arts colleges in the country. AMDA offers various pathways for students to receive unparalleled performing arts education taught by world-class industry professionals, including Professional Conservatory Certificates as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Occupational Studies, Master of Fine Arts and Master of Arts).
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and safeguard the technical assets of the theatre, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage facilities.
- Determine the necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs, necessary for events and performances in advance of production dates.
- Design, set up, maintain, and operate lighting and sound systems for theatre, dance, music and other productions and projects; assist guest designers with technical matters.
- Advise the Senior Vice President of Production Experiences and the Executive Team as needed on the technical specifications, costs and usage of technical equipment required for individual productions and supervise the implementation of approved technical designs.
- Monitor the condition of production equipment, arrange for repair and replacement within budgetary constraints; perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Assist with the preparation and control of production budgets; maintain inventory and order specialized supplies.
- Supervise and assist with set and stage construction and management.
- Attend technical week rehearsals to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of the mounting of the show.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and assignment of tasks to student workers and technical production staff members.
- Lead, supervise, motivate and inspire the technical production team.
