This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful local and national group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities. You will interact throughout AECOM and externally with clients to conceptualize and develop conveyance infrastructure that is reliable, sustainable, and resilient. You will be involved in all phases of the project delivery and will be engaged in assessing industry trends and participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, and networking opportunities.

  • Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
  • Assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements in pipeline design and engineering
  • Assess trends in the marketplace, lead strategy, and assist proposal development with support from local and national staff to capture expanded suite of services AECOM can offer clients
  • Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required

  • Experience with the design of water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure 18-inches in diameter and larger.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of extensive project experience in municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater large diameter pipeline design, analysis, installation, inspection, leak detection, and management in design within dense urban settings.
  • Master's degree in civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations
  • Pipeline condition assessment and rehabilitation experience.
  • Understanding of construction methods, such as open-cut and trenchless (micro tunneling, jack and bore, etc.) for sewer and water infrastructure.
  • Licensed PE in the state of MA, CT, or RI, or ability to obtain.
  • Strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives.
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight.
