Inside Technical Sales Engineer

Location - St. Louis, Missouri, United States Work Arrangement - Onsite

What We Do At Weir We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet's future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make Your Impact You'll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You'll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that's through engineering, planning or customer support. You'll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What You'll Do

  • Technical Specification Review: Review customer technical specifications and commercial terms to ensure alignment with Weir's product offerings and standards. This involves detailed analysis to accurately select equipment that meets hydraulic and material requirements.
  • Equipment Selection and Proposal Preparation: Prepare and submit formal quotations and proposals within our ERP system (SAP ECC), collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Daily tasks include sizing pumps and selecting equipment based on customer needs and RFQ packages. Success is measured by accuracy, responsiveness, and timely delivery of proposals.
  • Order Entry and Technical Support: Accurately enter orders and provide ongoing technical support to customers and internal sales personnel. Troubleshoot technical issues and assist with application questions to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth order processing.
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work collaboratively within a team of Application Engineers and Project Managers to share workload and improve processes. Adaptability and a positive attitude are key to thriving in this dynamic environment.
  • Travel Requirements: This is an inside sales role with no travel required. Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What You'll Bring Must-haves: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Strong technical skills in pump selection, proposal development, and ERP system usage (SAP ECC preferred) Collaborative mindset with adaptability and a strong willingness to learn

Nice-to-haves: Experience in the mining or chemical industry

Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales or application engineering within a manufacturing environment Familiarity with centrifugal pumps or related pump technologies Exposure to hydraulic requirements and material properties in equipment selection Experience working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
