Job description

MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build anywhere—on the edge, on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 developers joining MongoDB every month, it’s no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

In the MongoDB Developer Experience Product Marketing team, we bring MongoDB products to life for developers, ensuring that they take advantage of all MongoDB has to offer using the tools and technologies they know, love, and use like IDEs, GUIs, AI frameworks, programming language drivers, and more.

We are hiring for a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager who will be dedicated to positioning MongoDB with developers and enabling our partners in Marketing and Sales to succeed in developer-led and developer-influenced GTM motions. This person will need the technical depth, messaging sophistication, and product marketing experience to drive our go-to-market activities targeting developers.

In this role, you will be in an exciting position to capitalize on MongoDB’s popularity with developers while growing our mindshare to further establish MongoDB as the preferred data platform for building modern applications. You’ll be a member of a high-performing, globally distributed team dedicated to giving developers a best-in-class experience no matter their preferred tools, development environment, programming languages or frameworks. And you’ll work closely with an exceptional group of cross-functional peers across the rest of Marketing, Product Management, our extensive network of technology and go-to-market Partners, and more.

Position Expectations / Role Responsibilities / What You’ll Do...

  • Strategize and Execute - Collaborate with our Marketing, Developer Relations, Product Management, Partner Marketing, and Sales Enablement teams to create and execute the strategic and tactical plan to strengthen MongoDB’s position as a market leader and preferred data platform for developers building innovative applications.
  • Enable - Empower our Growth Marketing, Product-Led Growth, and Sales and Customer Success teams with the right positioning, messaging, and content that continues to build preference for MongoDB with developers.
  • Build - Compelling technical content (e.g. end-to-end solution stories, demos, tutorials, conference presentations) that prove to developers that MongoDB is an exceptional choice for their application stack including working with their chosen framework(s).
  • Evangelize – Serve as a subject matter expert and drive awareness of MongoDB’s developer data platform with internal and external audiences, including representing MongoDB at events.

Qualifications / Requirements / We’re Looking For Someone With…

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product marketing, product management, or developer relations, particularly with B2B SaaS or developer-facing products. Other roles and experiences related to developer marketing may also be considered.
  • Experience building your own GenAI / RAG / agentic AI applications or projects using leading LLM model providers, LLM orchestrators, and AI frameworks - and the confidence to do a lightweight coding interview with one of our engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to lead with a point of view and create high-quality technical content under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in collaborative environments, effectively engaging with cross-functional teams and external partners while also being able to move the ball forward independently.
  • A low ego-to-talent ratio and collaborative spirit.
  • Location : North America.
  • You have a degree in Computer Science or have completed a coding bootcamp.
  • You have worked for a database, developer tools, or cloud provider previously.
  • You have marketing experience related to GenAI.
  • To drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, we’re committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone. From employee affinity groups to fertility assistance and a generous parental leave policy, we value our employees’ wellbeing and want to support them along every step of their professional and personal journeys.
