Job description

Job Summary

NetApp is seeking a Technical Hardware and Sustainability Product Manager to join our product management team. The ideal candidate has experience managing hardware designs in large enterprise settings, working collaboratively with global R&D teams, and influencing product strategies.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Product Management and involves close collaboration with Product leadership, Engineering, Procurement, Sustainability, and Support teams to develop compelling product strategies within NetApp’s fastest-growing segments.

Additionally, we are looking for a strategic and passionate Sustainability Product Manager to lead our ESG initiatives. Responsibilities include developing sustainability strategies, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Our GHG reduction targets are validated by SBTi. Responsibilities

  • Gather, validate, and evaluate product / market requirements through research and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with R&D to translate market needs into innovative technologies and support rapid solution delivery.
  • Define product vision, strategy, and lifecycle plans.
  • Provide insights through analytics and market research.
  • Translate technical and sustainability requirements into business language.
  • Gain experience and provide insights into global sustainability strategies.
  • Develop and execute programs to reduce carbon footprint, waste, and resource use.
  • Understand hardwares impact on power consumption for better sustainability reporting.
  • Monitor, measure, and report sustainability metrics in line with industry standards.
  • Collaborate across departments to embed sustainable practices.
  • Assess and mitigate environmental impacts across operations and supply chains.
  • Engage stakeholders on sustainability policies and practices.
  • Stay updated on sustainability trends, regulations, and innovations.
  • Build partnerships with external organizations to further sustainability goals.

Job Requirements

Technical & Industry

  • At least 3 years in product management, with hardware experience.
  • Knowledge of data center storage, networking, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with backup / disaster recovery architectures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, ESG reporting, and lifecycle assessments.
  • Basic understanding of sustainable supply chains and renewable energy strategies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Preferred

  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Jira.
  • Experience provisioning storage devices.
  • Deep knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, DPU, PCIe, NVMe, SSDs.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and certifications.
  • Experience in sustainability management or CSR.
  • Travel

  • 15-25% of travel expected.
