Your impact Jacobs’ OMFS business serves public agencies and private entities, delivering water and wastewater utility operations and maintenance (O&M), facilities management, public works, and municipal services. We’ve delivered O&M services for clients in government and industry for over 40 years and are responsible for operations at more than 300 water and wastewater treatment facilities. The O&M business is an important element of Jacobs’ plan for growth. Jacobs is seeking a Technical Sales Leader to support the OMFS business. This position is a unique opportunity that requires the integration of analytical and creative abilities. As a senior member of our national sales team, you’ll support competitive pursuits across the country. Your primary role will be the development, synthesis, and communication of complex technical ideas and approaches to clients through proposals, interviews, and other materials. In this process, you’ll work with a wide array of OMFS delivery personnel and Jacobs’ subject matter experts to frame client issues and challenges and develop our approach to successful project delivery. You’ll be responsible for developing compelling win strategies, narratives and graphics to communicate our understanding of client issues and ability to meet their objectives.You’ll work directly with Jacobs’ O&M professionals, Global Technologists, and outside consultants across a broad range of topics - including water and wastewater treatment, maintenance and asset management, conveyance, residuals, regulatory compliance, SCADA and cybersecurity, digital tools, energy management, estimating, risk management, legal, and more. You’ll be engaged and informed about the latest Jacobs research, tools and solutions that bring an advantage in the highly competitive O&M market. In this roll, you’ll be supported by a talented Inside Sales Team that is responsible for proposal production and graphics, as well as development of non-technical content. You'll work closely with the Regional Sales Manager managing client relations, pursuit budget and schedule, and provide overall strategic direction with your support.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE : - Write technical approach sections for O&M proposals- Work with Jacobs O&M professionals, Global Technologists, and outside consultants to develop pursuit win strategies- Create PowerPoint slides summarizing technical approach for interviews- Prepare ancillary sales content including handouts, project descriptions, and other material- Develop graphics that summarize, illustrate, and support written material- Lead calls to generate ideas and develop a detailed project delivery approach with support from our SMEs and delivery teams- Integrate disparate ideas into a coherent vision and approach to project delivery- Coordinate with the OMFS Estimating Team to ensure that delivery approach is consistent with pricing- Maintain notes and transcripts of calls- Coordinate with Inside Sales to meet the schedule of deliverables in a fast-paced environment- Manage budget and schedule for the remote teams engaged in technical approach - Proofread and edit material developed by others - Participate in document reviews and provide meaningful feedback- Actively work with Jacobs’ Subject Matter Experts both inside and outside of OMFS to stay informed of new ideas and tools. Understand how these are relevant to OMFS’ competitive position and lead the effort to integrate new ideas into OMFS - Review competitor proposals, and contribute to the continuous improvement of OMFS sales materials and approaches- Maintain a focus on the O&M market and understand relevant industry trends and how they affect clients.- Actively engage with the national sales team to provide valueSales is an exciting, fast-paced, and dynamic team sport. The position is full-time, and work hours will vary depending on market activity. This is a hybrid position with occasional travel required to visit facilities, lead and attend meetings, and interact with clients. - Minimum of 10 years’ experience in any aspect of water / wastewater consulting, engineering, or O&M.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Occasional travel is required to visit facilities, lead and attend meetings, and interact with clients.Ideally, You'll Also Have :
- Ability to ensure consistency of disciplined sales practices, and champion the use of enterprise tools and systems
- Previous successful experience providing staff leadership, communication, staff assignments, and developing staff capabilities
