SUMMARY : The Heavy Industrial Technical Sales Rep is responsible for driving sales growth by identifying and capturing new business opportunities, maintaining and growing existing accounts, and providing technical support to customers and company supplier partners to a diverse range of industries such as Metals, Mining, Rubber, Power Generation, Energy, Wood Products, Automotive and Consumer Products. The position requires a solid understanding of fluid power to deliver tailored solutions that support our customers. The role reports to the Director of Heavy Industrial Sales.

Sales Growth and Account Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the industrial sector to expand the customer base.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow market share and increase revenue from existing accounts.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential customers.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Technical Expertise

  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and stay current on advancements in industrial hydraulics and motion control technology.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to customers, ensuring they understand our products and their applications.
  • Understand customers’ current and future hydraulic system requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure accurate and effective solutions.
  • Offer design suggestions to customers, draw schematics, and assemble accurate bills of materials.
  • Sales Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Quotation & Proposal Generation

  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotations based on customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create detailed proposals that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Requirements : Sales Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and project status within Evolution’s CRM program, Sales Hub.
  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the management team and to trusted supplier partners.

  • QUALIFICATIONS : The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and / or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.

    EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial sales, preferably in hydraulics or a related field.
  • Proven track record in sales, especially in selling technical products or services.
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial hydraulic systems, components, and applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong work ethic pursuing a high standard of excellence.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

    Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting of items such as a laptop computer, small products or parts, product books or catalogs. Position also requires long periods of sitting while driving or riding as a passenger in an automobile to customer sites. Ability to effectively communicate using company-issued devices such as laptop, mobile phone, etc.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT : While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office environment. Must be able to move through customer sites, including warehouses, shipyards, oil field rigs, manufacturing facilities, and related machinery, etc. Daily travel to customer sites within local region is required. Work outside normal business hours is possible.
