Job Description Summary
The purpose of this job is to train firefighters and other city employees regarding current best practices in fire and emergency medical services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
- Reviews, develops, and updates approved lesson plans.
- Assists other instructors with the building and development of approved lesson plans.
- Conducts and documents remedial training with firefighters as needed.
- Monitors and evaluates instructors to ensure competence in teaching ability and content of training.
- Serves as a point-of-contact for the fire academy.
- Inputs and maintains data.
- Coordinates trainings for new recruits. Reviews recruit progress reports and keeps the chain of command apprised of progress.
- Provides instruction for in-service training programs.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
