Job Summary / Description

Broadcast Engineer providing maintenance and repair of the television broadcast facility, and a Technical Media Producer. Coding of Television News broadcast, as well as Master Control Operation, and IT support for the television station.

Duties / Responsibilities

Set up and operate production switchers and all associated technical equipment in a Production Control Room and / or Live Location environment during live game and / or studio broadcast productions.

Orchestrate control room setup while evaluating and assigning all video inputs, considering timing and video levels.

Collaborate with the Producer to execute the technical and artistic vision for each live newscast and / or studio production.

Lead the technical portion of the production team during setup and coordinate equipment and show elements as they pass through the production switcher.

Collaborate with traffic and HUB entities to verify video and audio signals are routed correctly and reach final destinations. During live / studio broadcasts, recall video sources, transitions, and effects, and route monitors as instructed by Producers.

Continuously monitor all sources used during production to ensure video levels are correct and in timing, including external feeds.

Handle the pressures of live programming and time-constrained environments.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Technical Operations and Production Engineering to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems for Live Locations, PCRs, and Studio productions, ensuring issues are resolved to completion.

Collaborate with Production Engineering, Technical Operations, and Production Management to identify and special-order equipment needed for live or taped studio broadcasts.

Qualifications / Requirements

Solid foundation for a television broadcast facility; willingness to learn and grow.

Strong IT skills are a must.
