Job Summary / Basic Function

Provide computer and information technology support via phone and in person at Walker Library during the workday, on weekends, and until 2 am as needed. The computing environment includes servers, multiple OS platforms, classroom systems, and discipline-specific equipment and software. Essential tasks include installation, configuration, diagnosis, and repair of software and hardware issues; remain current on technology trends, tools, and support methods for new technologies adopted for use within the Library public spaces, specialized labs, and classrooms; document support interactions in campus all tracking software; assist, supervise, and train student workers in Library Technology Services (LTS); monitor and verify LTS student hours worked and submit for payroll; perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned. PLEASE NOTE : Work schedule is Sunday - Thursday 3 : 45pm - 12 : 15am.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related area required.

Required Related Experience

Three (3) years extensive experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computers (both PC and Macintosh) and peripherals. Experience should include the installation, service, and support of Windows 10 and 11 as well as macOS.

Desirable Related Experience

Prior library experience preferred. Experience with purchasing technology and account reconciliation preferred. Experience with installation, service, and support of instructional technology and audio / visual systems preferred.
