This role emphasizes the development and deployment of high-performance, GUI-driven applicationsespecially those integrated with the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK)for defense, intelligence, and commercial use cases.
Description
The Software Engineer V serves as a senior technical leader across advanced software development initiatives, with a focus on real-time autonomous systems, computer vision, machine learning, sensor fusion, and EO / IR imagery analysis. This role emphasizes the development and deployment of high-performance, GUI-driven applicationsespecially those integrated with the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK)for defense, intelligence, and commercial use cases.
Job Duties
- Software Architecture & Development : Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable software systems, including GUI and user-facing interfaces for autonomous and sensing platforms. Build both prototype and production-level software solutions for real-time applications.
- Advanced Algorithm Integration : Research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art vision-based sensing algorithms and machine learning models. Support deployment of these capabilities to government and commercial customers.
- System Design & Optimization : Drive architectural decisions to ensure performance, scalability, and security. Identify performance bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts to reduce technical debt.
- Testing, Validation & Debugging : Oversee unit, integration, and system-level testing. Lead verification and validation of autonomous software and imaging systems to ensure functional and performance requirements are met.
- Code Quality & Best Practices : Conduct detailed code reviews to maintain quality, performance, and compliance with secure coding standards. Collaborate with other developers to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with program managers, designers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to define technical requirements, align with program goals, and deliver mission-critical solutions.
- Documentation & Communication : Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, flowcharts, programming procedures, and user guides to support team knowledge sharing and sustainment.
- Mentorship & Leadership : Mentor junior engineers and lead by example in engineering excellence, agile practices, and timely project execution.
- Security & Compliance : Ensure all software complies with relevant cybersecurity and regulatory standards, including ITAR and other government requirements.
- Continuous Innovation : Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks; identify opportunities to incorporate them into future development efforts.

Additional Requirement
You must have, or be eligible to obtain, a Department of Defense Secret clearance. You will be subject to government security investigations and must be able to access classified information. The inability to obtain a security clearance will result in you being ineligible for the position.
