Job Description : Cellular and Radio Telecommunications Engineer

• Location : Plano, TX. Hybrid, 2 days onsite per week
• Job OverviewThe Wireless Cellular / Radio Engineer is responsible for the development of standards, solution architectures and roadmaps for Cellular and Radio Infrastructure. This individual will work with business facing teams and users to design appropriate solutions that meet business requirements for cellular network demands across North America locations.This individual successfully analyzes requirements and designs technical solutions for complex problems. This person evaluates technical and economic feasibility of systems solutions (e.g. costs, benefits, feature / functionality, interoperability, scalability, maintainability, etc.) based on the full technology life cycle. The person in this role will support the department's objectives by ensuring the stability and availability of cellular / radio network hardware and software, by planning capacity of the Cellular Infrastructure for Campus, Manufacturing sites, Data Centers and other remote sites. The Cellular Engineer collaborates with other network teams (LAN, WAN, Security) and domain architects to evaluate and introduce new technology standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Private Cellular initiatives including proof of concepts and production deploymentsOwn and fulfill small to large strategic or tactical private cellular projectsFunction as point of escalation for project execution issuesHelp design, test, and implement new cellular / radio solutions and proof of conceptsHelps with the vendor and solution selection processLead weekly project status meetingsConduct and / or coordinate site surveys, develop site plans to gain total coverage of facilityCoordinate resources, track execution, and validate new deployments, upgrades, and expansionsSupervise and or performing site installs, maintenance, upgrades, or software enhancements to support the cellular DAS / Private Cellular infrastructure needsFunction as a point of escalation for operational issues, work with vendors for timely resolutionSubmit and track change management for all cellular / radio systemsMonitor system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root causeSupport service tickets as needed while engaged on enterprise cellular developmentsEngage with manufacturer technical support centers to quickly resolve issues as they ariseCreate / maintain Operational Support Guides and any other documentationTravel to site when required to support deployments, testing, and validationRequired QualificationsBS in EE, Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience8+ years of professional experienceHigh level teaming and communication skills to influence and persuade othersStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to managementExperience with cellular distributed antenna systems and signal boosting solutionsExperience designing and deploying private cellular solutions (private 4G / 5G on licensed and / or CBRS spectrums)Strong understanding of network technologies and TCP / IP protocols (LAN, WAN, WLAN) and firewallStrong troubleshooting skills and experience with analysis and performance evaluation tools such as Wireshark, iPerf, etc.Extensive experience with wireless technologies, knowledge of RF and LTE networksWillingness and ability to learn new technologiesPreferred QualificationsCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher qualificationsExperience designing and deploying private cellular network solutionsKeywords : Cellular, RF, Radio Frequency, Network, 5G, LAN, WAN, CCNA Years of Experience : 7.00 Years of Experience
