Position Title : Attractions Operator (Part Time)
Reports To : Attractions Supervisors
FLSA Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt
Safety-Sensitive : This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates, regardless of whether they are a medical marijuana licensee, must receive a negative result on a 10-panel, pre-placement drug screening to include THC, prior to beginning work.
Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. (TZMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of "Connecting, Caring, Advocating for Wildlife, People, and Wild Places." A dynamic group of passionate individuals brings the zoo to life each day, 365 days per year, caring for animals, greeting guests, educating the public and managing the facilities. Each member of the team is integral to the success of the zoo as a key asset in the City of Tulsa and the Northeast Oklahoma region, delivering recreational opportunities, providing unplugged family time and conserving animal species for future generations.
Position Summary :
Attractions Operators are responsible for delivering the highest level of guest service at all points of contact. They must be able to work independently, easily engage with the public, accurately handle money, and adhere to stringent safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Other duties may be assigned in keeping with the mission of Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. (TZMI)
- Gives exceptional guest service, helping the zoo meet its mission of "inspiring passion for wildlife in every guest, every day".
- Operates and sells tickets for the zoo carousel.
- Assists guests and sells tickets to special exhibits.
- Assists guests and sells tickets and products at the Gem Dig.
- Seasonally assists guests with giraffe feedings.
- Troubleshoots minor issues with attractions.
- Handles money effectively and balances a cash drawer at the end of each shift
- Knows zoo policy and procedure, including emergency protocol.
- Effectively communicate and demonstrate interpersonal skills with all levels of employees in a clear and professional manner.
- Demonstrate and adhere to TZMI's workplace values.
- Know and follow zoo policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and assigned training sessions.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and / or Experience
No education requirement; one to three months related experience and / or training.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of TZMI.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
Computer Skills
Centaman or equivalent ticketing system preferred.
