The Test Technician A / B Position
Provides laboratory technical support and assistance to engineers, technicians, and others involved in bearing tests, evaluations, and analysis in support of the Americas Technical Center (ATC) mission and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains test equipment to be sure it is in good working order, including the running of bearing tests and interprets the results.
- Programs, operates, and monitors test equipment; includes cross training of multiple stands, interpreting results, and drawing conclusions.
- Analyzes bearings / bearing components after the completion of testing / returned bearings from the customer.
- Measure various physical properties and characteristics, interpret the findings, drawing a conclusion, and reporting the results. Interpret engineering drawings to ensure measurements taken meet the given standards.
- Calibration of test and measuring equipment and general housekeeping of the lab area (Maintain 6S throughout work area).
- Performs calibration / verification of tests and measuring equipment, performs preventative maintenance activities, and manages / purchases testing / analysis supplies.
- Reviews and gives input for all associated work instructions.
- Improves equipment / test set up; focuses on efficiency.
- Designs fixtures, assemblies, and sets up special equipment and measuring devices and assists in purchasing these devices.
