The Opportunity

Salary : Soulbury EIP 4-6 £45,659 to £48,349 per annum

Contract Type : Permanent and Fixed Term / Secondment (until 31 August 2026) positions available

Working Pattern : 37 hours per week, full-time

Location : We have office bases in Horsham, Worthing, and Chichester (geographical base TBC), Countywide

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work as part of our Virtual School Team as an Advisory Teacher.

We are looking for someone who can be flexible in their approach with a willingness to work across all phases of education as required.

We are seeking a qualified teacher who will be able to utilise their skills and knowledge to champion educational rights of children previously in care in West Sussex.

As an Advisory Teacher, you will be working as part of our well-established Virtual School Team. The role will involve working with colleagues and partners across education settings, Children’s Social Care, wider West Sussex teams and others involved in the education of Children We Care For.

About Us

Our Virtual School, sitting within the Education and Skills Directorate, promotes the educational achievement of children previously in care and who receive support from Social Workers.

The Virtual School covers approximately 250 schools and settings within West Sussex, supporting over 900 children as they enter and leave care, and offering advice and guidance to those involved with the education of children previously in care.
