You Will Help Our Youth Thrive By :
Assist the lead teacher in a Non- Public School setting in planning and implementing instructional activities, including lessons, projects, and classroom routines.
Provide individualized or small-group support to students, focusing on their academic, behavioral, and social development.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher regarding students' strengths and areas for improvement.
Assist with classroom management and support students in maintaining positive behavior and following classroom expectations.
Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.
Help with the preparation and organization of classroom materials, supplies, and learning resources.
Support students with special needs as directed by the lead teacher, including providing accommodations or modifications when necessary.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom culture that values diversity and promotes respect among all students.
Assist with student assessments and maintain records as required.
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
Maintaining knowledge of program standards and policies as developed by Villages of California, the Board of Behavioral Sciences and other governing bodies; develops personal and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in in-service programs.
Maintaining overall confidentiality information regarding students, families, and operations of the Agency (including media).
Incorporating Agency philosophy and mission in all aspects of job performance.
Maintaining a professional relationship with students, staff, and other outside stakeholders at all times.
Exercising good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
Attending all required staff training sessions in accordance with Villages of California and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time.
Attending and participating in program and all staff meetings.
Adhering to and promoting the Villages of California Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others.
Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role :
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn strategies for working with students with special needs.
Proficiency in MS Office systems and ability to utilize an electronic medical record.
Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with students.
Understanding child / adult / adolescent development and family systems.
Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Villages of California policy
